New armature came Monday. Packaging error, miscommunication,
anyway, I send off an E-mail to Proslot to inquire and another is being
made and shipped. Now that's service. Guess I need to get started on
this motor and will have two armatures to test now.
I think this is going
to turn out to be a blessing in disguise as the first arm is a small
diameter version of the one I've been running, minus one turn. Really
close. I'll load this arm in a Gen 2 set up and get a good look at the
magnet package and diameter change. Maybe I should build two motors.
Qualifier and a race motor????

Extra, Extra Read All About It

Okay, I just got the word on last Saturdays test session at
Mid-America and the news is good. Dave Pfaff puts a 64.5 gram HDF
Camaro Neo/FC loaded with a
KMR Quad equipped motor down the track
at....drum roll please...

                     .0597 60' .425 ET @ get this 148.42 MPH.

Not only is this a new best for this platform but Unca Dave pilots his
flopper to
5 more .420 passes then another 8 to 10 passes in the .430
range. Boys and girls can we say MONEY CAR!! Stunning!!!

It gets better. 5 more cars of various construction run between
.420's (2 more) and .430 (the remaining 3 cars) How's that for a stable of
nut crackers.

I'm still not sure where every thing is going but the picture is getting
clearer. I'll be working more "off the shelf" (mostly glue up) and have to
relearn and be rethinking parts of the package which may have me
working backwards for a while. Not to worry
.

Traction is my main concern at the moment and it won't get better as
the power level increases. The new body work is in the "stall" mode and
not sure it will even materialize at this moment. I was counting on this
one change to make a significant change in the cars down track bite. I'll
have to find another way which just means some more thought and
testing. I'm in no hurry here.

While I have most of the parts for the new power package in hand or
in delivery looks like I will continue to flog the old motor awhile longer
until the traction issues are under control. It's been reliable and
predictable and more importantly, competitive as is.

I was headed in this direction anyway, traction improvement and the
only thing that has changed is the time line.
